Catsfield Boat Race is an annual event that takes place in the small village of Catsfield, East Sussex, unusual in that it doesn’t actually take place on water. Instead competitors build there own boats in teams and carry them, racing around the village green and through the streets of Catsfield on a predetermined course set out by the organisers.
There is also Boat Judging for best Boat and a Childrens Catsfield Boat Race.
1066 Pipes and Drums
This is also a regular annual event for us.
This is what the Catsfield Boat Race chairman said about us:
12th July 2018,
Dear Dean,The Castfield Boat Race – Sunday 8th July 2018I wanted to write and thank the 1066 Pipers and Drummers for their performances at the Catsfield Boat Race on Sunday. We had a record 18 Boats take part and people turning out to support the event and for me the music the band plays really does add to the anticipation and excitement of the races. I have received numerous messages saying what a fabulous event this is for the village, but we couldn’t have done it without your involvement. As you hopefully know our chosen Boat Race charities are the Kent Surrey & Sussex Air Ambulance and St Leonards Church and we will get a message out via social media once we know how much we have raised. These are some great photos on the “Roberts Photographic” Facebook page (and search for Catsfield Boat Race) so please do try and have a look. Thanks again for your support,
